Justin & Kimberley Arnold

Sooo clearly it has been a while since I last blogged - ahhh sorry! Wedding season was a whirlwind and then I went straight into fall photo mode ( safe to say my busiest month of my entire 10 years in business!) October I photographed SO many beautiful families and more to come for November & December.

But first, lets talk about Justin & Kimberley's wedding at Mt. Lehman Meadows in Abbotsford. I know I say this about all my clients (I truly am lucky!) but Justin & Kimberley are two of the most easy going, kind-hearted and selfless people I know. Mt. Lehman is such a great venue for many reasons but the fact that it has a large “getting ready” room on the property is such an added bonus. Both sides of the bridal party got ready at the venue and decided to do a “first look” and formal photos prior to the ceremony.

There was some concern of rainy weather (hello its the lowermainland…..and September) but we lucked out with a stunning day - not too hot and not too cold, no rain (until very late at night) and moments of pure sunshine.

The reception was an incredibly special one in that Justin & Kimberley announced a BIG surprise they were keeping a secret the ENTIRE DAY!!! But I’ll let them divulge that one ;)

The reception continued on into the night with drinks, delicious food, laughter and a little bit of dancing! Alright now for “some” photos….

Tanner & Rebecca | 16.06.18

Tanner and Rebecca found me on one of my social media platforms and we photographed their engagement session waaay back in 2016! Fast forward to their GORGEOUS wedding in June of this year. It was a toasty, sunny summer day. The ladies got ready at the venue Estate 248 in Aldergrove, BC. Rebecca was the most relaxed, easy going bride I have ever photographed! So were her bridemaids, no wonder they are all such good friends. After getting to know her over the years and many wedding meetings, I expected nothing less. The guys got ready at their family home in Surrey. I think the photos speak for themselves....it was a fun morning! Tanner and Rebecca are truly two of the kindest, friendliest and hardworking people I know. Not only did I feel like their photographer but one of their friends. It was pretty evident in the many speeches that were made that Tanner and Rebecca are surrounded by friends and family who deeply love them - I mean MANY tears were shed, and laughter too! 

And better yet, only a few days before their wedding they were FINALLY given the go ahead to move into their new home. They purchased it several years ago but the move in date kept getting pushed back. How's that for excitement, moving and a wedding in the same week! 

Congratulations on the new home and marriage Tanner & Rebecca, thank you for letting me be a small part in your special week.

Justin & Jackie | 02.06.18

In all honesty Jackie and I can't quite remember how or when we met, perhaps through a mutual friend or at university? Who knows! But, we've been friends ever since. I have had the opportunity to photograph Jackie several times. The first time I met Justin was at their engagement session and man did I know they were perfect for each other. Jackie is extremely outgoing (and as mentioned SEVERAL times at their wedding...likes to talk.....a lot!) And, Justin graciously sits back and lets Jackie do the talking. There truly aren't words to express how great Justin & Jackie are: extremely caring, inclusive & easy going - don't do them justice! All throughout their wedding day I would ask Jackie "Do you have any particular spots in mind for photos?" or "What do you think about this?" Jackie's response to everything was (in the sweetest tone ever) "Honestly, I don't care, I trust you!" Okay, okay....on to some photos!

Their wedding took play at Hopcott Farms in Pitt Meadows. It was a beautiful June day, not too hot and not too cold, oh and no rain! 

After the ceremony we headed off on a special hay ride, accompanied by champagne and fresh fruit! We explored the barns and cranberry fields for our formal photos.

Now  it was time to have some fun! Incredible food was had (and I mean, I've had a lot of "wedding" meals before and this one was TOP NOTCH!) Heart felt speeches were made followed by dancing the night away! Check out ALL the incredible vendors at the bottom of this blog post  who made Justin & Jackie's dream wedding come true.

Okay....I HAD to post this one... it is "their thing." And by that I mean the girls LOVE it and Justin will probably hate me for posting this.

Brian & Kerry | 30/12/17

Brian & Kerry wanted to have a simple and intimate wedding surrounded by close friends and family. The perfect time was December, when everyone would be in town for Christmas. They gathered together for a beautiful ceremony at Milner Chapel in Langley, BC. After the ceremony we headed to GLOW Christmas with all of the wedding guests. Glow is a local family Christmas event that features incredible light features (tunnels and gardens), food trucks and Children's games. It has activities for all ages and was the perfect spot for a cold wintery afternoon. Following our GLOW experience we headed back to Milner Chapel for the reception. Everyone enjoyed scrumptious food and thoughtful speeches/toasts. The evening went out with a big bang (literally) with a personal fireworks show!
